SERVICES

Terrace Search and Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-based search and rescue organization serving Terrace and the Northwest. The service is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Terrace SAR teams provide assistance to the R.C.M.P, BC Ambulance Service, BC Corners Office and the Provincial Emergency Program (PEP) by:

  • searching for missing persons

  • water rescues and recoveries

  • assisting at disaster scenes such as landslides, fires and floods

  • providing mutual aid to other SAR teams and communities.

The Terrace SAR teams are administered and staffed by volunteers who train and practice search, rescue and survival skills in the rugged yet beautiful British Columbia. In addition to its search and rescue activities, Terrace SAR regularly participates in a number of community events. The Search and Rescue Team also presents public information and education programs throughout the year to schools, youth groups, and others.

Terrace Search and Rescue Association believes that volunteers play a vital role in search and rescue operations, no matter what the scale. Volunteers from all walks of life donate hundreds of hours a year to train, search and promote our organization.
